Step 1:
You and your partner need to each get a KWL chart. Start by thinking about all the things you already know about eggs and write them under the "K". Next, think about what you want to know about caterpillars and write your questions under the "W".
Step 2:
Get your journals and draw a picture of what the eggs in the jar look like today. When you finish, write three sentences about them.
Step 3:
Go to "information Resources" under "Task" and read the books, go to the websites and/or watch the videos.
Step 4:
After reading, write down in your journal what you read and how it explains what you see. If you answered some of your questions from your KWL chart, you need to add the answers to the "L" column. If you have more questions you need to add them to your chart or just write them in your journal for tomorrow.
Step 5:
Watch the jar each day, draw your picture for how they look and write your sentences. Go back to "Information Resources" to find out what stage they are in and add the stage to your journal. Continue to read and learn about the life cycle and add your information to your journal or KWL chart.
Step 7:
After you have finished your research and have watched the eggs grow and change, you need to make a book called "The Life Cycle of a Butterfly". Your book needs to include the four stages with pictures and summaries of what you have learned about each stage as well as what they needed to grow and change.
